Punk rock! This is the kind of music that was made for house shows. These beautiful ladies draw cute pictures, cut their dresses short, and produce rock and roll cassette tapes. This is the kind of thing that happens in college towns across the country, and none know it better than Austin.
Their Facebook default picture is obviously analog, as is their Bandcamp banner. Their interests are “having fun”, and they like Black Sabbath. Not enough people like this band. If you want a taste of honest college house show rock, you should change that. This is reality. This is honesty. This is sincere.
Double tracked vocals. Repeated verses. Short songs. How much more punk rock can it get? Way more punk rock. One track on their Bandcamp titled “I’m Sorry If I Just Blew Your Mind, But Please Clean Up The Mess” will make you jealous that you don’t go to The University of Texas. Oh, to be a longhorn.
Kana Harris and Stephanie Mueller’s vocals will pierce your ears, and Christina Lough’s drumming will make you love it. Any comparison to some other girl punk band would just be sexist. These humans make wonderful music directly comparable to no one. Email them at foreignmothers@gmail.com and tell them how beautiful they are. They will almost definitely love it.
Pick up Foreign Mothers 4-track cassette on bandcamp for 5 dollars or get a digital version for 4.
The Earth is a giant crystal, Foreign Mothers, and you are breaking it with denim shorts and electric guitars. Keep up the beauty.
