Planets is, most briefly, a Rock N’ Roll band that happens to be all girls. They say that their personal interests include “playing shows with you”, and that is exactly what the Austin music scene is about.
These girls are enthusiastic, exciting, and powerful. Everyone in this band is powerful. From the thick bass and backup vocals to the lead vocals, Planets is a band that deserves to be seen in a small crowded room full of people who understand the scene.
These ladies are beautiful too! There is a video of “Liz Burrito” singing karaoke to the Spanish song “Bitty Bitty Bom Bom” on Facebook, and it proves that Planets can have all different kinds of fun, not just powerful punk rock.
Their “Love Song” is reminiscent of early Sonics style Garage Rock. The melody is catchy. The lyrics are questioning and sung with sincerity.
They made a music video! This video for their song “It’s Not 1977” includes shotgunning beers, chanting vocals, Christmas lights, and SM 57 microphones. It’s black and white, and it feels like it could be form 1977. Not! She begins the song with a very sincere “It’s not 1977!”
If you like driving, honest punk rock, you should listen to Planets. If you like attractive girls, you should look at Planets. If you like intense live shows, you should see Planets play. If you like hanging out with cool people, you should hang out with Planets. Everything about this band is worth checking out.
